Home Business -
General Information
Being
a homeschool family generally means being a one-income
family. More and more, it can be difficult to
make ends meet with only one income.
Fortunately, there are many, many opportunities
to make a supplemental income on the side. Particularly
with the rise of the internet, ideas and support
abound. Not to mention convenience! You can practically
obtain a business license and do your taxes without
leaving your chair.
On the flipside of that coin, finding information
on the internet can be a very frustrating experience.
Why? The online home-business info-seeker (there's
a mouthful!) demographic tends to be young people
(generation X) - bored with work and looking for
a quick and easy escape. As a result of all the
usual supply and demand forces, the web is packed
with "get rich quick from home" schemes
catering to that demographic, and all you have
to do is pay $49.99 for their downloadable e-book(!!!).
Unfortunately, that clutter makes finding legitimate
information difficult. But it is there! And that
is the purpose of this page - to point you in
the right direction.
Be assured - there are great opportunities. But
you need to keep two things clearly in mind to
avoid getting stuck in a rut - or ripped off -
on the internet.
1. You cannot achieve any kind of success in
48 hours.
2. You do not need to join some kind of network.
And with that, good luck!
Business
Leads for Homeschooled Teens
The obvious, foremost question facing anyone desiring
to test the waters of entrepreneurship is - "what
should I do?" Finding something that you
enjoy, is in demand, and is profitable is not
always the easiest task!
For some - the answer to the question is obvious
- they have a talent for which there is a market.
For the majority however, that question can be
a show-stopper.
Fortunately,
it doesn't always have to be! It can take some
digging, but there are countless ideas, suggestions
and leads out there to help you jump-start your
own idea development. Alternatively, for those
who aren't quite ready to get their hands dirty
in full-blown entrepreneurship, and/or would rather
just focus on production or sales, there are opportunities
out there in which the infrastructure has already
been set up, and you are invited to a share of
the pie, typically via sales commissions.
As mentioned above - regardless of whether you
want to start a business from scratch or work
with an existing infrastructure, finding good
ideas and opportunities does take digging. And
to complicate matters (particularly if your primary
information source is the internet), for every
legitimate opportunity out there, there are a
dozen scams. So dig - but dig with discernment!
That
said, we have a resource to start you off in the
right direction. Compiled by an entreprenuerial,
homeschooling mother of two, and geared towards
homeschooled teens, we find this to be a valuable,
legitimate resource, full of ideas and leads that
will at least spark your own imagination, if not
develop directly into an entreprenuerial venture.
